Yom Kippur 2022

Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement and is the holiest day in
Judaism and Samaritanism. According to tradition, it is on Yom Kippur that God decides each person’s fate. People who follow the Jewish faith are encouraged to make amends and ask forgiveness for sins committed during the past year. Observance may include a 25 hour fast and religious service.

Yom Kippur begins at sundown Tuesday, October 4th, and ends on Wednesday evening, October 5th—the last of the ten days of penitence that began
with Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year). Yom Kippur completes the period known in the Jewish faith as the High Holy Days that begins with Rosh Hashanah.
