Famine in Gaza: How to Help Now
Jul 29, 2025
The Gaza Strip is experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe with over 2 million people facing days without food and mounting reports of starvation-related deaths, including young children and infants. Food prices have soared, livelihoods collapsed, and restrictions on aid access have turned aid deliveries into deadly flashpoints. More than 1,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed attempting to access food aid since May 2025. UN-backed monitoring groups now warn that parts of northern Gaza have entered famine or equivalent catastrophe levels (IPC Phase 5), making this one of the most severe crises globally in recent memory.
