The 2026 Winter Olympics, officially known as Milano Cortina 2026, are currently taking place in northern Italy. While preliminary competitions in sports like curling and luge began as early as February 4, 2026, the Games officially started with the Opening Ceremony on February 6, 2026, at Milan’s San Siro Stadium. The once every four year event is scheduled to last for 19 days, concluding with the Closing Ceremony at the Verona Arena on February 22, 2026. There are approximately 2,900 athletes from over 90 nations competing in 116 medal events.
