White Stork CharityWatch Rating

    Apr 28, 2025

White Stork’s mission is stated simply as “to give every Ukrainian the means to survive.”

According to its 2023 audited financial statements, “White Stork – United States, Ltd. is a veteran-led critical aid & last mile logistics charity that takes its name from the national bird of Ukraine. White Stork’s mission is to give every Ukrainian the means to survive. The Organization’s programs include: providing individual first aid kits (IFAKs) to Ukraine’s Railways, Postal Service, State Emergency Services, and Defense Forces; providing demining equipment to the State Emergency Services and Defense Forces; and evacuation & housing of women, children & the elderly.”

Programs

White Stork states on its website that is does not provide weapons or ammunition, but rather provides non-lethal assistance and humanitarian aid. This includes:

(1) Delivering Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) directly to soldiers and civilians on the front lines in Ukraine.  Tourniquets, bandages, chest seals. Critical, life-saving aid.

(2) Maintaining a position to respond rapidly to the dynamic needs of Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom and safety, including evacuations, generators to power hospitals and other critical infrastructure, and shovels to dig trenches. Its resources and volunteers are on location, delivering directly.

Financial Efficiency

CharityWatch analyzed the 2023 audited financial statements and IRS tax Form 990 of White Stork and determined that the charity spent 85% of its cash budget on its programs, spending only 15% on overhead expenses like fundraising and management. It cost the charity only $5 to raise each $100 in cash donations that year. Based on these metrics, White Stork earned an “A” rating on CharityWatch’s “A+” to “F” rating scale.

Top Compensation

CharityWatch tracks the names, job titles, and compensation received by the three highest paid individuals at each charity. The salary information is based on our analysis of the charity’s IRS tax Form 990 and includes total of base compensation, nontaxable benefits, and other reportable compensation as reported to the IRS (Form W-2, 1099-MISC, and/or 1099-NEC), excluding any amounts already reported by the organization in a prior year IRS Form 990.

When an employee receives payments from multiple entities controlled by or related to a charity, CharityWatch will calculate and report the total from all entities on which we have information. In cases where most or all salaries fall under the IRS reporting limit of $100,000, CharityWatch may report fewer than three top salaries due to limitations on publicly available data.

Based on this criteria, CharityWatch reports on the following compensation information for White Stork for the charity’s 2023 financial year.
